An hourly rate is charged for general genealogical
research, plus the actual out-of-pocket costs of
photocopies, postage, telephone tolls, certificates,
cemetery photographs if requested, and travel expense
outside Polk County, if required and approved. No retainer
is required. Payment can be made by personal check,
money order or by credit card through PalPay from the link
posted below.
If you need an obituary look-up or other single research
need and have the exact (or near exact) date of a particular
event (death, marriage, birth, anniversary, etc.), a flat rate
can be offered.
Death certificates issued by the State of Iowa Department
of Health can be obtained only by a direct descendant of
the deceased. I will be pleased to copy death records on
file at the county level, but only by special arrangement am
I able to obtain Iowa State issued death certificates.

special needs and situation. For many reasons, it is
difficult to estimate the time required to research a
particular task, so it is usually best to simply specify an
hourly limit acceptable to you and I will do my best to find
the information you need in the time authorized.
There is a great deal of family history information
available using the technology of today, but it is often
difficult to sort through the data to know what is
pertinent and what is not. Often the posted data
contains no verifiable source references, making it
impossible to differentiate between the accurate and
the inaccurate. If your family history is posted online
without source information, please don't assume that it
is true and factual. To claim a family history, one must
be able to provide the full and accurate source of the
data. I will always provide a full comprehensive report
with accurate and complete source data!
